Early Elvis Costello

I picked up the new Elvis Costello compilation album, Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink from the library today, and it was really interesting to hear early versions of familiar tracks and to read about unreleased demo versions of some of his most famous songs.

My highlight, though, was a previously unreleased song, titled “I Can’t Turn It Off”, which would be re-written and released as “Watch Your Step” in 1981.
